Have you ever watched those TV shows with real-life doctors performing surgery on their patients? They use those nifty little cameras to see into the body to learn exactly what’s happening and how they can fix it.
What if I told you, that as plumbers we use a similar technology to inspect and repair your pipes and drains?
It might not sound quite as exciting as getting into the human body, but it’s exciting for us! Having this CCTV camera inspection technology means that we can learn so much more about what’s going on in your pipes without getting our hands as dirty as we’re used to.
What’s So Great About CCTV Pipe Inspection
Being the plumbing nerds that we are, we could go on about how great this technology is all day! But we’re sure that you don’t want to hear all that, so we’ve focused on what we think will be the most exciting for you.
It’s Cheaper, Faster & Safer
Starting with one of the best reasons for CCTV pipe inspection is the cost! Imagine the costs that come along with digging up different parts of your plumbing system to search for a potential blockage. Not to mention the time, potential hazards or injuries and disruption to your site that comes along with this excavation!
When we’re able to get a camera down into your pipes and have a look around without any digging, we can get your plumbing back up and running to 100% much more efficiently.
It’s Accurate
How many times have you had plumbers around to fix something that lasts just a few days before you need more maintenance? This frustrates us as much as it does you. It’s not the fault of the plumber – it often simply means that they’re treating the symptom and not the cause. Without this inspection technology available, there’s really nothing else that your plumber can do.
But now, if there’s a problem with water leaking or pressure, we can jump in with our cameras and take a real-time look at what’s going on. We can learn if there are tree roots obstructing the flow or a crack causing a leak.
Coming back to that doctor’s analogy, once we learn the cause, we can treat the symptom for the best possible long term results! So that you can be running your business again at full capacity without any issues.
It’s Good for the Environment
When you’re excavating an area to look at pipes, there’s a lot of disruption and large machinery to be used. This far less invasive technology means that we can inspect your plumbing with the lowest impact on the environment.
Don’t worry if you need pipe replacement either – we have a sustainable and cost-effective solution for that too with our pipe relining technology!
It Can Find Other Hidden Issues
If we suspect a cracked or damaged pipe, our cameras can get in there and check it out fast. But in some cases, we might find something that we weren’t expecting. Finding a potential issue that hasn’t presented any signs yet means that we can fix it before it does and reduce any flow-on effects that need even more fixing!
For example, a stubborn clog may turn out to be a tree root growing through your pipes – we’ve seen it before! Being able to make necessary preventative maintenance early will prevent further damage and reduce your costs.
How It Works
Camera inspection technology is pretty simple for us to do as well, which makes it even faster to get to the root of your piping problems. We simply insert our small CCTV camera, which is surrounded by lights, down an open drain. The camera then sends a live feed to an attached camera so that we can see exactly what’s happening underground.
So if you need a camera inspection for your pipes, you know that you’ll get your answers more quickly and easily than if we were to investigate via traditional digging methods.
